This was an adventure! Scaffold and delivery truck was ferried from Kerikeri to the island by barge. The truck was driven to a ridgeline, then tractors brought the rig from the ridgeline to the house,

Scaffold was built up and around house then wrapped to protect the steel frame from the weather. Outside of the steel we created a sandblasting platform. The wrap goes over the top to allow the work to be done without weather interruptions.

Steel was sandblasted and then needed to be dry, primed and coated within four hours of sandblasting.

Reroof access to roof & gutter

This reroofing, gutter replacement and repaint job required weatherproofing for its duration. Scaffold was built at ground level and from the deck, then it was framed for the wrap. We also created platforms and safety rails for the painters.

The pitch of this roofline meant building an access tower, with safety-rails, hook over ladders and roof platforms to provide a safe work site for successful repairs on leaking gable-end windows.

Leaky skylights can be difficult to work on. We created a scaffold that stepped up across a roofline for ease and safety.  We used the home’s deck as the base and for extra rigidity, installed Raker supports.

Reroofing and Guttering

Reroofing and guttering

Three to four level coverage. Scaffolding set on the deck on front side of the house.

Scaffold needed a number of turns to follow the angles of the house and available deck space. Access platforms and safety rails were installed at different heights of the rooflines.

Roofers required scaffolding to reroof this two storey home

Able Scaffolding erected scaffolding and edge protection to meet the current required standards which is working platforms within 1 metre of guttering, as required for all roofs pitched 25 degrees or steeper. Delivering a fast turnaround on erection and dismantling provided a reliable and affordable option for this project.

Exterior painting of four storey apartment building, up to 14 metres

Working with the painters, Able Scaffolding erected scaffolding around the building as needed, working first on the sides of the building and then the front. By following the painters schedule, this provided a cost effective solution rather than leaving scaffolding up in places when it was no longer required. Scaffolding was positioned exactly and precisely allowing painters to reach all surfaces, whilst taking into account space around fire escape access. This project also saw specialist scaffolding erected over and around a glass roof.

Builders extend this large home, on a tight and steeply sloping site

Delivery

Scaffolding was erected to take into account the extended footprint of the home. This allowed the builders to do all major construction without having to move any of the scaffolding. Once built, the scaffolding was in place to allow painters to carry out all external painting with only small adjustments required to the scaffolding plan.
